- 1. Check for oil change neglect. 2. If the oil is neglected, change the engine oil. 3. Clear the trouble code. 4. Drive the vehicle. 5. Clear the code repeatedly while driving, to allow the Engine Control Module (ECM) to continue to operate the solenoid. 6. Test the new solenoid on the bench by tapping power and ground to its terminals and listening for a click.
- Lubricate and check chassis. Change oil and oil filter. Check air filter and breather filter. Check all fluid levels and tire pressures. Preform basic safety inspection.
